Maggie's passion is advocating for and supporting those with visible and invisible disability and/or neurodivergent needs- different ways of thinking, seeing, communicating, experiencing and interacting with the world than is "typical." She loves helping caregivers and community members learn more and engage more with their autistic and neurodivergent neighbors, share in special interests and understand everyones' different special needs to foster inclusion and connection.
After over 20 years working in the public mental health care field as a community-based clinician and in clinical leadership within North Carolina behavioral health managed care, Maggie shifted from corporate/agency work in 2019 and has been in private practice specializing in behavioral health consultation, caregiver clinical support, and development of caregiver supports/strategies for individuals dually diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disability and mental health needs.
Having spent 9 years serving in a variety of roles at the LME/MCO Vaya Health developing clinical services and improving quality of care, she is sharing that experience and also provides business coaching and consultation for organizations and programs around clinically meeting co-occurring needs IDD/MH, clinical and program development and sustainability in publicly funded systems of care, and whole person care models.
In 2016, she and her husband and business partner turned their shared special interest and love of travel, movies, fantasy, creativity and imagination into a small specialty travel agency helping others create their own magical vacation experiences.
